David explained all the details of his design and how the new patio would fit perfectly with what we needed and David was very patient.
They were organized, professional, and responsive to our questions and concerns. Most importantly, David was involved in every step of our project. He responded to all out question before the installation started and was present during the construction, just as he had promised when we first met.
David has sent the expert installation team to work on our patio and we’re very happy with them.
It’s less than a week and we’re already had a Birthday party and had several breakfasts and dinner in our patio. Before the patio installed my front door sunlight all day long, we’re not able to seat and enjoy our view. With our StruXure patio we can control the sun and light in our outdoor living area, we’re so pleased with our new Pergola system and we couldn’t be happier with our investment.

We also added the Pan 6 system to our balcony. We wanted added protection from the elements but didn’t really need the movable louvres. The fixed pan system has provided us with the perfect amount of shade from the sun and coverage from the rain—all without sacrificing our beautiful view of the harbor. In fact, adding the cover over the balcony actually made the space feel much bigger. We love spending time out there, soaking in the scenery.

We had originally priced out a wood pergola, and we were pretty shocked at how expensive it would end up being, even with our fairly custom design. So we stopped in at Smart Patio Plus before seeking another bid on wood, just for fun really. We assumed it would be 150% of the bid for wood given the functionality and the other categories it surpasses it. We were pleasantly surprised that a StruXure of identical dimensions and similar design would work out to be roughly the same price before install of a wood pergola (only) for our design and bid. Had we gone with the wood option and added in electrical, heaters, etc it would’ve been more than our StruXure. I realize that won’t always be the case for every pergola, but it shows that they’re more comparable than one would think.
The showroom is great for getting ideas and for finding out if the ones you already have are as good as they might be in your head. They have a variety of setups there and you really get to test drive how it’ll feel with your own install.
Shawn set us up with a knowledgeable and experienced installer who dialed everything in perfectly. They kept tight communication with Shawn and his team, so you aren’t just pushed out to sea after purchase and delivery if you have questions or concerns during install.
We’re thrilled with the new addition to our yard remodel and would recommend Smart Patio Plus strongly to others.

The company has very knowledgeable sales reps and a fantastic showroom. You definitely know exactly what you are getting before you purchase.
The price however is very high, roughly twice the quotes I was getting from other louvered pergola companies in SoCal. Those companies had no showrooms or samples, so it was hard to know what you were actually getting.
The installation was straightforward, and also expensive. StruXure does not do installs, instead they partner with other installers who have experience with the product.
The lead time for us was less than what was quoted, maybe because it was off-season. StruXure was great at keeping us informed of the process, which was about 7 weeks.
Overall, it’s a great product and company. If you are looking for an over-the-top modern luxury pergola that is totally customizable for your space, durable, and functional year round, this is the solution for you.

So we contacted the company and they sent out Ryan to show us the product and he was the nicest guy! He showed us the product and what it did and we were very impressed with what it would do. Especially the quality of the product. It is very sturdy and painted beautifully.
Ryan even came out another time to do the measure and see what would work with our new home. Also, Jim the owner came out and showed us how the system would work on our home and how they could connect it. So we thought about it and thought about it and finally came to the conclusion we would try it out.
I do have to say they have the most wonderful gal Laura at the office that keeps you in contact weekly on where the patio system is at the time. She was in constant contact with me (which we were very impressed with that) and if I had any questions she was there to answer them or get right back to me. She deserves a lot of props!! She was just the best.
So we ordered the product and then I had BCD construction company contact me for the install. They were great! John was wonderful to work with. He was easy to text or to call. He always made us feel that he was taking great care of having our product installed.
And his installer Erwin was amazing! He was very knowledgeable in every aspect of the company. They were able to get it done in a week and he even gave us some great ideas about our patio cover. They were very respectful and nice and cleaned up when they were done for the day. They did an amazing job.
This process took about 4 months from buying it to the whole thing to being finished. But all in all in the end it was worth it. We love our patios and they are so nice looking. We get a lot of compliments on our patio covers. Especially during the holidays when we had parties. It just adds so much to our beauty of our home.
Also, we had a little difficulty with the motors when it was first put up. So I contacted Jim the owner and I tell you, they went above and beyond to get our system up and working!!
John and Ervin seriously have to be commended for their time and effort they put in to fixing the motor and the rain sensor and the remote set up on our phones. We now have access to our patios anytime or anywhere we can shut or open them from afar!
